Our facilities are available
Needless to say, after 20 years of operation we have built up some excellent facilities and equipment. We helped to fund the new Village Hall project in 1990 and in being involved in the specification of the building and its facilities we were able to ensure it would be ideal for conversion into an occasional theatre with adequate service rooms and storage. The auditorium capacity is 200 maximum and will seat 130 with a full 9m by 5m stage set up behind its curtained proscenium arch. The 2m by 1m by ½ m high Revostage units are easy to erect and join together allowing stage building in a fraction of the time it took years ago. New 8 ft high by 4 ft wide scenery flats have been built from framed canvas. They are light, easy to manoeuvre and fix.
The newly installed lighting framework allows lights to be easily hung and plugged into wiring infrastructure which allows control using a Jester desk at the rear of the auditorium. A sound wiring infrastructure is also in place to facilitate control of sound and effects from the rear of the hall. We have our own PA system and wall mountings for our speakers, plus we can feed directly into a hearing loop within the hall for use by the hard of hearing. Particular lighting units required by a show are usually hired in.
A wheelchair ramp to the stage and wheelchair access to all other ground floor areas ensures the Hall is able to be fully utilised and enjoyed by all.
